The compartments are lockable with included keys, however locking doesn't actually work as they don't seem to close properly, they hang slightly ajar. The upper compartment is unique, being a shelf that is a mirror (oriented upwards), surrounded by green, and a light bulb. Overall this would be a good and unique choice for a buffet though do keep in mind damage.
